The Accessible Educational Services Office (AES) (formerly Office of Disability Services for Students (DSS)) is dedicated to ensuring that students with qualified medical conditions have the tools, support services, and resources that allow equal access and reasonable accessibility measures to be successful at Indiana University Bloomington.
They specialize in identifying classroom and testing accommodations to assist students with qualifying medical conditions to achieve their academic goals. Coordinators work individually with students on study skills, time management and other success strategies in addition to providing education and outreach to the university community. AES links students to resources essential to their success including academic support, housing and transportation services, internship and career resources, counseling and support services, as well as relevant community resources. AES also facilitates services for temporary impairments that are not covered under ADA, such as accessibility measures for students using crutches.
